The story

It was all about the spines. Angle them and you need supports, lay them flat and they look soft and sad. Bramble's are a shallow overhang that bridges on its own, so the tips come out sharp with nothing to pick off afterwards. He curls through one hinge along the belly and holds the shape on friction alone, no clip, no magnet.
